Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll Contributed to the ongoing speculation that Disney and Marvel plan to incorporate at least some of the characters from the Netflix series into the MCU. Some fans shared a post on social media of the poster for the 2003 Daredevil action with Ben Affleck, taking it as an indication that the man is preparing to return without fear.
Of course, it’s very likely that Woll just wanted to celebrate the poorly-received efforts to bring Daredevil to screens, perhaps to re-emphasize how good the Netflix efforts are. Nobody knows what their intentions were with the Post right now, but with the rumor mill that keeps stirring up Marvel’s daredevil Speculation, it’s hard not to wonder what this all could mean.
Deborah Ann Woll starred as Karen Page on all three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil, an enigmatic young woman whose quest for justice plunges her into the already chaotic life of lawyer and vigilante Matt Murdock. After the adventures of Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer by day who fights crime at night as a masked vigilante, the show lasted three seasons before unfortunately being canceled in 2018.
After enough time had passed and the rights to the Marvel Netflix properties fell to Marvel Studios, rumors quickly spread that Charlie Cox would return as either Matt Murdock, Daredevil, or both in the upcoming Marvel sequel Spider-Man: No Way At home, with reports claiming he briefly filmed the project. However, the actor has previously stated that he will not hold his breath when it comes to presenting himself as The Fearless Man again, even though he would enjoy the chance to do so. “Look, I had a great time,” he said. “I’m so grateful that I got to play this character for as long as I did. Of course I would like to continue. I would like to be part of it.”
The latest rumor has it that Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones will be brought back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Cox, Jon Bernthal and Krysten Ritter each repeating their respective roles in future Marvel films and series. However, it has also been claimed that they will not play the same versions of the characters as they do on Netflix and will instead play restarted versions, with the return of each character reportedly being spread across Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU.
Whether any of these are true or not remains to be seen, and since rumors are what they are, it’s best to take all of this with a hefty pinch of salt. It’s worth noting, however, that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has suggested that these actors could return as their respective Netflix characters. The Marvel boss said, “It’s all on the board,” before adding, “One of the fun things about comics is that characters appear and disappear and come and go. All of this is inspiration for the future. There is some great characters and actors from those shows. “
So what is Deborah Ann Woll’s game? Is she just loving Daredevil’s earlier endeavors? Or will fans break out in applause upon the return of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Woll’s Karen Page?
